Rose Allen Cust (1860-1929)

Rose Allen Cust (1860-1929)

Last week my sister and I visited the Riviere Qui Barre Cemetery. It was my first visit there in many years. We walked up and down the rows of gravestones reading them aloud and remembering who people were and where they had lived in and around the community.

I was very surprised to come across the stone you see above. I had been told that our great-grandmother, Rose Allen Cust, had been buried on the Alexander Reserve.

I don’t know who put the gravestone there nor when it was put in place. It is clearly quite old.

If you know anything about the gravestone, please add your information through a comment.

    Hi Elaine,

I also remember seeing that headstone there on my only visit to the cemetery. Have you considered contacting the cemetery office? Perhaps they have some old records that could be of help in solving this mystery!

Great job on the blog and the website!

    Colleen
